Tiramisu Stuffed French Toast

Looking for something sweet for breakfast this weekend? Then try baked Tiramisu Stuffed French Toast.

How do you make tiramisu french toast you might ask- I stuffed croissants with a mascarpone filling from my favorite tiramisu recipe, and added Baily's and coffee to the egg mixture I bake it in. Sounds delicious, right? It's sweet, but not too sweet, and instantly became one of my husband's favorite french toast recipes.

Mascarpone Filling

  • 4 large egg yolks

  • 1/2 cup sugar

  • 1/4 cup heavy cream

  • 1 cup mascarpone

  • 1/4 cup Bailey's

  • 2 tsp vanilla extract

French Toast

  • 8 croissants

  • 2 eggs

  • 2 tsp vanilla extract

  • 1 cup heavy cream

  • 1/4 cup Bailey's

  • 1/4 cup coffee

  • 1/8 cup brown sugar

  • 1/8 cup sugar

  • 1/4 tsp warm spice mix

  1. In a medium-sized bowl, use a mixer to beat the egg yolks and sugar together until the eggs are a pale color.

  2. In a separate bowl, use a mixer to whip the heavy cream, mascarpone, and Baily's together.

  3. Fold the sweetened egg yolks and vanilla into the mascarpone mixture until combined. Set aside until ready to use.

  4. In a large bowl, add the eggs, vanilla, cream, coffee, Baily's, sugars, and spices. Mix until combined.

  5. Use a knife to slice a slit on the side of your croissants, and fill the pockets with the mascarpone mixture.

  6. In a large buttered baking dish, place the stuffed croissants into the dish, making sure you fill the dish completely.

  7. Pour the egg mixture on top of the croissants, and cover the dish with foil.

  8. Bake the french toast at 375 degrees covered for 20 minutes and then uncovered for 10.

  9. Once french toast is baked, top with whipped cream and cocoa powder and serve.
