In the season of all things apple cider, I thought an apple cider mulled wine would be so delicious. The difference between this and a regular mulled wine cocktail is that you use more apple cider, and you use white wine instead of red. The cocktail ends up not as bitter as red wine, and it tastes like spiked apple cider. This warm cocktail is perfect for both mulled wine and apple cider lovers. I personally prefer this over the typical mulled wine recipe.
Ingredients:
1 bottle white wine
5 cups apple cider
1/2 cup honey
2 tablespoons mulling spices, placed in spice bag
2 cinnamon sticks
1 orange
1 apple
Directions:
In a large saucepan or slow cooker, add the wine, cider, and honey. Mix until honey is dissolved.
Add the bag of mulling spices to the mixture; cover and let simmer on a low heat for 2-4 hours.
Halfway through, add the additional cinnamon sticks and orange to the mixture.
Once the mixture is ready, remove the spices and serve immediately while warm.
Top with apple slices when serving.
