Tis the season to get boozy! Here's another cranberry cocktail that combines two of my favorite spirits- gin and champagne. I love using cranberry simple syrup this time of year because of the flavor, and you can use it in about any cocktail. It's not too sweet, and you can make it your own by adding additional spices. I added rosemary to my simple syrup making this Cranberry Gin Fizz taste like Christmas in a cup.
Ingredients:
2 ounces Cranberry Simple Syrup
2 ounces Lime Juice
2 ounces Gin
Champagne
Directions:
In a cocktail shaker, add the cranberry simple syrup, lime juice, gin, and ice.
Shake and pour into glass.
Top with champagne.
Optional: Garnish with rosemary sprig or frozen cranberries
Notes:
For cranberry simple syrup, combine 1 cup water, 1 cup sugar, 1 cup of cranberries in a saucepan. For cranberry rosemary simple syrup, add 2 sprigs of rosemary. Allow to simmer on low heat and stir until sugar is dissolved and berries burst for about 5-10 minutes. Strain the liquid and allow it to cool before using.
