Savory homemade biscuits filled with bacon, cheddar cheese, and chives.
1/2 cup chives, chopped
8 slices of bacon, cooked and chopped
1 cup cheddar cheese, grated
1 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons pepper
2 cups flour
2 tablespoons baking powder
1 cup buttermilk
In a large bowl, using a pastry blender or food processor, mix the flour, baking powder, salt, butter, cheese, chives, and bacon until the texture resembles crumbs.
Add the buttermilk to the mixture stirring until combined.
Mold the dough into a rectangle, and fold the sides into the center like a letter. Repeat folding. Roll dough until it’s 1 inch thick, and cut your biscuits.
Place biscuits in a cast iron skillet or baking sheet. Brush tops with buttermilk, and bake for 15 minutes at 425 degrees.
