Kitchen Sink Cookies

Cookies have become my new favorite thing to bake. They're usually pretty easy to make, they include the same staple ingredients- butter, sugar, and flour, and there's almost always enough dough to save for another batch. This week I decided to make kitchen sink cookies which allow you to throw in whatever ingredients you want, whether that be chocolate, chips, marshmallows, everything but the "kitchen sink." My cookies combine sweet chocolate and caramel with salty pretzels creating a savory and sweet treat to enjoy.

Kitchen Sink Cookies

Ingredients:

  • 2 3/4 cups flour

  • 1 teaspoon baking soda

  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder

  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

  • 1 cup butter, softened

  • 1/2 cup white sugar

  • 1 cup brown sugar

  • 2 eggs

  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract

  • 2 cups of semi-sweet chocolate chunks, chocolate chips, chopped caramel pieces and pretzel

Directions:

  1. In a small bowl, mix the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.

  2. In a separate bowl, cream the butter and sugars until light and fluffy.

  3. Add the eggs and vanilla, and gradually add the dry ingredients.

  4. Once mixed, stir in the chocolate caramel and pretzel mixture

  5. Roll dough into balls, and bake for 7 to 10 minutes at 350 degrees until golden.
