Peanut Butter Blossom Cookies

As a kid, I loved eating the peanut butter blossom cookies my mom made. She would use the peanut butter cookie mix and put Hershey's bar squares in them. They were always soft and gooey with crispy edges. I decided to make my own peanut butter cookies from scratch, and realized it wasn't as easy making a soft and chewy cookie- you need to use certain peanut butter and not too much flour for them to be perfect, not dry and crumbly. My recipe will help you make soft, peanut butter-filled cookies topped with Hershey's Dark Chocolate kisses (because dark chocolate makes everything taste better.)

Ingredients:

  • 2 1/2 cups flour

  • 1 teaspoon baking soda

  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder

  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • 1 cup butter, softened

  • 1/2 cup white sugar

  • 1 1/2 cups brown sugar

  • 1 cup peanut butter (salted)

  • 2 eggs

  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract

  • Hershey's Dark Chocolate Kisses

Directions:

  1. In a small bowl, mix together flour, salt, baking soda, and baking powder.

  2. In a separate bowl, cream the butter, sugars, and peanut butter until light and fluffy.

  3. Add the eggs and vanilla, and gradually add the dry ingredients. Mix until combine.

  4. Roll dough into balls and bake for 7-10 minutes at 350 degrees until golden.

  5. While hot, press the Hershey's kisses into the center of the cookie.
