Simple and sweet strawberry buttercream frosting made with freeze-dried strawberries.
2 cups freeze-dried strawberries
2 cups butter, softened
1/4 teaspoon salt
3 cups powdered sugar
1/4-1/2 cup milk or heavy whipping cream
1 teaspoon vanilla
Using a food processor, grind the strawberries into a fine powder.
In a large bowl, cream the butter and salt until light and fluffy.
Use a sifter to gradually add the powdered sugar and strawberry powder to the bowl, mixing until fully incorporated.
Add the milk and vanilla to the bowl, mixing until combined. The frosting should be a fluffy, smooth consistency.
